Private Directional Sign


Private DirectionalPrivate directional signs are intended to inform motorists of public and privately owned natural phenomena, historic, cultural, scientific, educational, and religious sites, and areas of natural scenic beauty or which are naturally suited for outdoor recreation. These signs are required to be located off the right-of-way, (i.e., on private property along interstate, freeway primary, and primary highways.

Here are a few examples of signs that qualified for the State of Iowa's private directional signing program.
